Snow & Ice Removal
Our DPW crew is on call 24 hours, 7 days a week during the snow and ice season. They plow village streets, place salt for ice control, cut back snow banks to improve sight distance, and clear crosswalk entrances & certain pedestrian areas. They ensure safe passage for commuters and school buses.
In accordance to property maintenance codes, village residents need to keep the sidewalks in front of their homes clear of snow, ice, and debris. Snow removal from residential driveways and business parking lots should not place snow in the streets or block sidewalks.
Crossing Guard
Per a request from concerned parents, our DPW staff offered to provide this service for students walking to school in the morning and afternoon and has proven to be a valid safety benefit.
